Positive Attitude Development Books
"Lyle, your Positive Attitude Development course helped change my life. It taught me how to recognize my core values, how to look for the good in people and things, and how to see that my happiness does not depend on how people treat me—but on how I treat other people. This course was one of the most eye-opening, uplifting times in my life! Thank you so very much."
Your friend forever,
John Gelmette, former federal prisoner
About the Positive Attitude Development authors
Lyle Wildes served a 22 year Federal Prison sentence for conspriacy to purchase with the intent to distribute cocaine.
Lyle holds degrees in sociology and philosophy from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. He developed the Positive Attitude Development (PAD) program in prison and spent the final 18 years of his Federal Prison term leading fellow inmates (and prison volunteers from the outside) in it. A voracious reader, Lyle read more than a thousand books in prison, with a special interest in brain research.
“PAD is designed to help people find hope in the future and learn ways to turn what appears to be a negative situation into a positive opportunity,” Lyle says. “At the end of the course each participant has a better attitude and is open to seeing the mystery in life in the most unexpected place —everyday life.”
Paroled in 2007, Lyle currently lives in Duluth, Minnesota, where he loves to run, play hand ball, listen to the blues, and lift weights. His post-prison goal is “to change the world by helping people to become the best they can be.”
